TIKNIK Silicone Dish Drying Mat, 16 x 12 in, Hanging Rope Included, Grey

A silicone rope comes with it, and the mat carries a hole for hanging — the difference between drying it flat on a worktop and getting it off the surface entirely.

The mat measures 16 by 12 inches. Diagonal ridges and a raised profile lift crockery clear so air moves underneath, while a shaped rim sends water back down towards the bowl.

Silicone is food grade and BPA free — soft enough to fold, firm enough not to warp.

Heat resistance is given as 450°F, or 230°C in the same breath; either way it takes a pan off the hob.

Grip is the other half of the job: glassware, fruit and vegetables stay put rather than sliding towards the edge.

Rinsing at a tap deals with water marks; the mat rolls or folds for a drawer.
