Utoplike Large Bamboo In-Drawer Knife Block, 16 Slots and Steel Channel, 16.6 x 12.2 x 1.8 Inches

The large version of this block spans 12.2 inches across a depth of 16.6 inches, standing 1.8 inches tall. To take it, a drawer must measure more than 17.1 inches deep and 12.7 inches wide internally, with over 2.3 inches of clear height.

Capacity is sixteen blades: eight slots cut for steak knives of roughly 9.45 inches and eight for longer knives reaching about 15.7 inches, with a middle channel taking a sharpening steel. Grooves are carved beside each slot so fingers can get under a handle, the raised angle keeps handles up and tips down, and a stop at the rear prevents a long blade travelling through the block when a drawer is shut sharply.

Moso bamboo, natural colour, chosen for a grain that does not chip or fade easily. No weight is published for this size. Knives and the steel are bought separately. Bamboo needs cleaning by hand and thorough drying — a dishwasher is not an option.
