Utoplike In-Drawer Bamboo Knife Block, 12 Slots plus Sharpening Steel Channel, 16.6 x 9.6 Inches

Start with the drawer. Utoplike ask for a drawer measuring more than 17.1 inches deep by 10.1 inches wide internally, with over 2.3 inches of clear height. The block itself is 16.6 inches deep, 9.6 inches wide and 1.8 inches tall, and the gap between those two sets of numbers is the room needed to drop it in and let the handles pass under the worktop.

The slots fall into two banks: six cut for steak knives of about 9.45 inches, six for longer blades reaching roughly 15.7 inches, with a channel down the middle for a sharpening steel. Finger grooves are carved beside each slot so a handle can be lifted without scrabbling, the raised angle holds handles up, and a stop at the back keeps a long blade from travelling through when a drawer is shut hard.

Moso bamboo in a natural colour, listed at 3.7 lb. Neither the knives nor the steel are included. Hand-wipe only — bamboo at this thickness will warp or split in a dishwasher.
