There is no viewing panel anywhere on this one, and that is deliberate: solid walls keep daylight off the beans, which the maker cites as a cause of spoilage.

Volume is 39 oz, sized around the common 2.2 lb bag. A full 1.1 kg of whole beans decants in, and ground coffee fills to about 40 oz or 2.5 lb because it packs tighter.

A one-way valve vents the gas beans release after roasting without letting fresh air in, and a silicone gasket seals the rim. Six valves are supplied.

The lid also carries a date tracker, so a bag opened three weeks ago is not mistaken for one opened yesterday.

Grade 304 stainless steel throughout, in grey, standing 8.9" tall on a 5.6" square base and weighing 1.3 lb empty.

A steel scoop with a hook comes with it. Flour, cereal, tea and sugar suit the same seal.
