Twenty slots, cut at differing widths, so a cleaver, a chef's knife and a handful of steak knives each find a channel that suits them.

Slot depth accepts blades of up to 9 inches. Anything longer will stand proud of the block.

Height is quoted two ways: 9.5 inches in the specification, 9.3 in the description. The footprint is agreed at 10.8 by 4.8 inches. At 4.9 pounds it stays where you put it.

Kitchen scissors, a sharpening steel and similar odds and ends can occupy the spare channels rather than rattling loose in a drawer.

Natural bamboo, grain left visible, no stain over it.

Dry each blade completely before it goes back in, and the block itself should stay dry as well. Knives are not supplied.
