Two tiers instead of one flat field. The lower row takes seven long blades up to 15.6 inches; the upper row holds six steak knives of about 10 inches. Knives themselves are not supplied.
The drawer needs at least 3 inches of internal height. The block is only 2 inches deep, and the extra allowance is WenCraft's own recommendation.
Slot walls are cut in a wave, lowering the grip point so a blade can be lifted clear without disturbing its neighbours.
Spacing suits chunky handles. Note that the listing quotes 16.5 x 7.95 x 2 inches in one place and 16.6 x 7.95 x 2 in the attribute table, which looks like rounding rather than a genuine difference.
