Domax Bamboo In-Drawer Knife Block, 16 Slots Plus a Sharpener Channel, Black, 15.8 x 11.2 in

Sixteen blades lie flat rather than standing upright: eight channels sized around 9-inch knives, eight more around 15-inch knives, and a single middle groove for a sharpening steel. Blades and steel are bought separately.

The drawer interior has to exceed 16" deep, 11.5" wide and 2" high. The block itself occupies 15.8 x 11.2 x 1.9 inches, so the margin is slim and measuring first is worth the two minutes.

Carved recesses leave room for fingers under each handle. A bulky handle can overhang the tray's far edge so the blade tip stays down.

Moso bamboo throughout, sealed smooth with rounded edges. The sealed surface shrugs off splashes and cleans with a wrung cloth, and Domax says it resists chipping, scratching and fading.

Finished in black, in a plain modern style. It weighs 2.52 kg.
