Domax In-Drawer Bamboo Knife Block, 12 Knives Plus Steel, Two Tier, Black

Two tiers do the work here. Shorter blades rest on the upper level, longer ones lie beneath, which is how a 15.8 by 9.1 inch footprint swallows a dozen knives and a sharpening steel.

Your drawer needs two inches of internal height at minimum, and blades longer than 15 inches including the handle will not lie flat.

Oval cut-outs on the top tier grip each handle, so blades cannot shift, tip sideways or knock into one another as the drawer travels.

Dense bamboo in a black finish, weighing 4.85 pounds. Heavy enough that it stays put rather than sliding forward when the drawer is pulled.

Hand washing suits it best, followed by air drying; otherwise a lightly dampened cloth across the surface will do.

Blades and the steel are yours to supply. The block arrives empty.
