Bambüsi Bamboo Expandable Cutlery Tray, Widens 13 to 22.2 in

Fully drawn out this reaches 22.2 inches, the widest span of the expandable trays in this range, and it closes back down to 13 for a modest drawer.

Up to eight deep compartments come with that span, though the specification table counts nine. Deep is the operative word: large kitchen tools stand in them rather than lying across the top.

The body is 17 inches front to back and 2 inches tall, and it weighs 3.3 pounds, which is substantial for a drawer insert.

Bamboo, sanded smooth so there is nothing to catch a fingertip, and left in its natural pale tone.

One figure to treat with caution: the maker quotes a capacity of 36.73 litres, which is far beyond what a tray of these dimensions could hold.

• Width adjusts 13" to 22.2"
• 17" deep, 2" high
• Up to 8 deep compartments, spec table says 9
• Sanded bamboo, natural tone
• 3.3 lb
• Maker's quoted 36.73 litre capacity looks implausible
