The corners are jointed rather than nailed. Mortise and tenon holds better over time than a pin through the end grain, and it is why this one does not work loose.

The bamboo comes from southern China and is carbonised before assembly, then filled and polished by hand.

At 12" x 4" x 2" it is a narrow tray — one row of things rather than a whole drawer's worth. Lipsticks and nail varnish on a dressing table, pens and a remote on a desk, or cutlery in a kitchen drawer.

Keep it out of the dishwasher and do not soak it. Bamboo does not survive either.

It weighs 0.21 kg in a natural finish.
