Mounting works two ways. A peel-and-stick pad handles it without tools, pressed home for several seconds; alternatively, screws through drilled holes give a permanent fixing on almost any material.

The adhesive only takes on smooth, non-porous ground — timber, ceramic tile, marble, metal or glass. Limestone, wallpaper, painted plaster and textured finishes will defeat it, and screws are the answer there.

The backing plate measures 5 7/10 by 1 7/10 inches. Steel throughout, with a rustproof surface and edges polished so nothing catches when you tear a sheet.
