NIRMAN Acacia Wood Storage Jar with Wooden Lid, 4.5 x 6 in, Round

A wooden jar with a wooden lid — no glass, no plastic — standing 6" tall on a 4.5" round footprint.

The lid seats over the mouth to keep air out, which the maker says holds whatever is inside dry and stops insects getting in.

Flour, sugar, rice, coffee, tea and biscuits are the intended contents; spices, jam and candied fruit are named too.

Acacia is what it is turned from; the colour is a plain brown throughout, with no pattern applied.

On a worktop it reads as an object rather than a container, which is the argument for wood over a clear canister.

One consequence of the material: contents are hidden, so a written label helps if several jars sit together.
