Lipper International Bamboo Drawer Box 8186S, 15 x 6 x 2 in, Stacking

Solid bamboo instead of moulded plastic, which is why this one earns its place against a clear tray: it looks like part of the drawer rather than a liner dropped in.

The box runs 15 inches long by 6 wide and stands 2 inches, and it stacks with others from the same range where a drawer is deep enough for two layers.

At half a pound empty it lifts out easily, so the contents can travel to wherever they are wanted.

Small loose items suit it best — clips, corks, batteries, cutlery with no slot of its own.

A capacity of 15 litres appears in the specification. The published dimensions work out nearer three, so read the measurements as the dependable figure.

Bamboo is a fast-growing renewable material, and grain will vary from box to box.
