Shazo Airtight Spice Containers, 6 x 0.5L with Spoons and Flip-Top Lids

Sealing is done by a hinged clamp: fold the flip top down and a ring presses the silicone gasket into the rim. Lift it and the lid releases, which is a one-handed action over a chopping board.

Each of the six tubs holds 0.5 litres, about 2.1 cups, in a square body 4.13" tall, 3.93" wide and 3.54" front to back.

Corners are drawn out to pour and the seal is rated leakproof, so oil, juice or stock can go in as readily as paprika.

AS plastic rather than the softer grades — the maker's stated reason is impact resistance if a tub goes off the shelf. It is BPA free.

Flat lids let the tubs stack, which is where a square footprint earns its place against round jars.

Six spoons are included, one per tub, so measuring never means fetching anything.
