Slot spacing is 1.2 inches, and that governs what will stand in the rack: plates, pan lids, baking trays and chopping boards up to that thickness, nothing fatter.

Four stands come in the box, each 13.5 inches long, 4.9 wide and 4.1 high with eight slots apiece. Spread between cupboards, they let lids live in one place and plates in another.

Every stand builds from four pieces, two long rails and two pegs, with eighteen upright bamboo pegs, nine to a rail, forming the slots. Turn each peg in under firm pressure and the frame pulls tight.

Load capacity is given as 8 kg. The stands themselves weigh 1 lb.

A surface treatment on the bamboo resists mildew and keeps the timber from splitting or warping.

Not dishwasher safe. Wet a cloth to clean it, then leave it to dry in air. Do not let it stand somewhere permanently damp, or sit for hours under strong sun.
