Each basket slides onto a shelf edge-first and hangs beneath it, converting the dead air below a shelf into a second level.

Fitting turns on the door closing over the hanging arm; the maker asks for a gap roughly a coin thick. Shelf thickness is taken up by a hand-turned screw, so no tools come into it, and anti-slip pads stop that screw creeping loose.

The arm measures 13 mm wide by 3.3 mm thick, which is what holds a loaded basket level instead of letting it pitch forward.

Clearance underneath can be set anywhere from 4.6 to 7 inches, front and back separately, and that is what allows taller jars and bottles to go below. Hanging arms adjust across a 0 to 3 inch range.
