Hovico 25 oz Hinged-Lid Glass Jar, 750 ml Wide Mouth with Rubber Gasket

A bail closure rather than a screw thread: the lid hinges back and a wire clamp pulls it down onto a rubber gasket. Nothing to unscrew, nothing to mislay. Volume is 25 oz, or 750 ml.

The mouth is broad, which is what makes the jar practical for pickling and for anything that wants scooping instead of pouring.

Thick glass throughout, BPA-free, lead-free and food grade. Empty weight is 400 g and the body is round in section.

The glass part copes with a dishwasher; the wire and gasket do better in soapy water by hand.

Vinegar leaves no stain, so chutney, pickles and preserves are within scope alongside pasta, coffee, seeds and bath salts.
